Restaurant Rambing: Duke's Kauai (Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii)

While visiting Kauai, we had dinner one night at Duke's.  Duke's is located at the Kauai Marriott Hotel right on Kalapaki Beach.
Duke's is a good choice for dinner.  They have a great salad bar (free with your dinner entree).  They also have a great selection of both seafood and steaks.  If all of this hasn't hooked you in yet, consider their amazing HULA PIE for dessert!
Since I was on vacation, I decided to indulge in a cocktail.  When I'm home on Kauai, I like to order a lava flow.  This is mainly because you can't get it in Oregon.  It's basically a pina colada with strawberry puree.  Yummy!!
We ordered the Crab and Mac Nut Won Ton with Mustard Plum Sauce as a starter.
I didn't take a picture of the salad bar but believe me, it's a great selection.  Their Caesar salad is great.  They also have a yummy tofu salad.

For dinner I ordered the Opah (Hawaiian moon fish) with a sauteed mac nut and herb crust with lemon and caper butter.  It was delicious!  I love Opah!
I had to save room for Kimo's Original Hula Pie.  Duke's hula pie is huge!!  It's a mac nut ice cream pie on an oreo cookie crust with hot fudge chocolate, nuts and whipped cream.  It's delicious!!
Even the fullest of dinner guests can't resist the hula pie.  Despite being full, we demolished it!

Hey Julie: Duke's has several locations...even on Maui. That's where you're headed right? I would think most bars in Hawaii would know what a lava flow is. Just ask!
