Restaurant Rambling: Decarli

Some friends and I went to check out a great restaurant in Beaverton the other week. I had forgotten I took photos. It's rare that Beaverton has a nice restaurant to rave about. Most restaurants there are either chain or great hole in the wall ethnic joints.

Decarli is a great upper end Italian restaurant. The food is wonderful and inventive. I was very impressed for Beaverton!

I started off with a Peartini. Can you say yummo??
We all shared some appetizers. We had the polenta fried with gorgonzola butter and the bruschetta sampler. The bruschetta sampler came with 3 types of spreads (chicken liver mousse with pickle red onions, goat cheese with figs & walnuts and mushroom tapenade with fontina cheese). Both dishes were delicious! The polenta fries are addictive. My favorite bruschetta was the mushroom tapenade. It was devine!
I had the crimini mushroom salad (crimini mushrooms, celery, parsley, lemon-truffle vinaigrette, plave). If you like mushrooms, you'll love this salad. It's so good!

By this time, I was getting full but I went with the beef shortribs (braised with espresso & dried prunes, creamy spaetzle, gremolata & horseradish). Wow! It was really yummy and melt in your mouth soft. I took most of it home because I was saving room for dessert.

I was told this cake was to die for. I split it with a friend. Boy did I wish I had gotten one for myself. It was really delicious! This is their warm chocolate cake with grand marnier, creme anglaise & vanilla bean gelato.

If you're looking for a great night out in Beaverton, be sure to stop by. It's located in downtown Beaverton and may knock your socks off! Be sure to get dessert! You won't be disappointed!
