Instant Gratification

I love planting lettuce because it's a surefire way for a gardener to get instant gratification. They're always so quick to germinate. It's only been 3 days since I planted these romaine lettuce and they're already sprouting. I love it!

These are the mizuna (asian greens) that I seeded. They're looking a little fuzzy. Oh oh! I may need to reseed them. I hope they're not a total bust!

They do grow so fast. Last time I sow some Komatsuna they only took two days to sprout

That fuzz on your mizuna is root hairs that the plant sends out...all good.:) Root hairs are thin hairlike growths that help the seedling absorb water and minerals from the soil. It's not mold.

I'll have to try the Komatsuna. I'm not sure I've ever tasted that before. Thanks Mr. H! I'm glad it's not killer fungus! The mizuna seem to be growing well now!
