Farmer's Market: Hood Strawberries

I *heart* Hood Strawberries!!  If you've never had them before, you are soooo missing out!  These strawberries are grown in the Hood River area of Oregon.  They are usually available during the early strawberry season (June).  These strawberries have a high sugar content and are soooo sweet.  The only downside of that (as if there could be one) is that they usually don't last very long.  Most batches last only 3-4 days.  That's okay because when I'm around, they never last long anyway.

You have to try these strawberries at least once in your life.  You'll never look at another strawberry again!!  These are from Unger Farms.  My friend and I made a special trip to the Farmer's Market just for these because they usually sell out.  Mmmm....strawberries!!

Farmer's Market: Peonies

I love peonies!!  They always make me smile.  There are one of my favorite flowers.  They always look so happy.  I love how they start as a tight ball and slowly bloom into a huge bud.  Adelman Peony Gardens was at the Farmer's Market this year.  I am never disappointed in their supply of beautiful flowers.

My favorite is the deep red peonies but I notice they don't last as long.  They are so pretty though.  The pink ones are not only beautiful, but they lasted for almost an entire week...even with the warm weather.  Too bad the season is so short.  I would love to enjoy these for the entire season!
